Georgian Soviet Encyclopedia (GSE) the first universal scientific reference book is the multivolume edition (11 volumes and special volume in two languages) (1975-87) and contains about 70 thousand terms. It reflects all the spheres of human knowledge and practical activity and is appreciate as a biggest triumph of Georgian culture and science. A lot of encyclopedic articles by Ivane javakhishvili, Korneli Kekelidze, Simon Janashia, Geronti Kikodze and other famous Georgian scientists which still have not lost the scientific value are given in this edition.
